

Rowen Bainbridge (age 42), chief executive officer
Rowen Bainbridge graduated as a Civil Engineer and holds a Masters degree in Business Administration. He started his career as a graduate trainee with ICI and held roles in commodity trading and risk management at RWE, Centrica and Fletcher Challenge Ltd. He joined BHP in 2000 and held a series of finance, commercial and strategy positions culminating in his appointment as Vice President, Market Development for BHP Billiton PLC where he obtained significant exposure to the upstream in the FSU and Algeria; with a particular focus on natural gas.
In 2006 he joined Ferrexpo, a large Ukrainian natural resources business as head of the energy division with a brief to turnaround their upstream oil and gas portfolio and to prepare it for a public offer. He established Ferrexpo Petroleum and was responsible for successfully drilling a number of exploration and appraisal wells in deep tight gas reservoirs, establishing an attractive exploration portfolio and for converting prospective gas resources into proven reserves and establishing production operations in the Ukraine. In 2009 he established Warrior Energy Resources LLP as a private equity backed platform to acquire and turnaround oil and gas assets in Eastern Europe and FSU. As a result of these activities he was approached by Aurelian in 2009 to become their Chief Executive Officer.
